Opening and Configuring *.EML files

I was trying to help one of my users to open the *.eml files in Outlook. Even though the default extensions were configured correctly, the system was unable to recognize the *.eml file format.

Records i/e., files with the file extensions .eml must be dispatched by specific applications. It's conceivable that .eml records are plain text records instead of archives or media, which means they're not intended to be seen by any stretch of the imagination. 

EML documents are used in email messages in plain content formats. It is utilized in Microsoft's Outlook Express saved Mail Messages and some portion of Microsoft's email programs. The design of the EML document is standard and ordinarily contains the header and the message or the principle body. The email address of the sender and the recipient including the subject, time, and date contains the header of the document, and the body subtleties the actual message. Email messages may likewise demonstrate connections and different hyperlinks that the sender has glued to the EML record.

How to change the default apps in Windows 10?

Step 1: Press the Windows key + I to open the setting and search for Default apps 

Step 2: Under Default apps-> look for "Choose default apps by file type"

Step 3: Scroll down to find the email extension and change/update the application to outlook(since am using outlook, I had changed my default application as Outlook.

Step 5: Finally, I was able to open the user's mail. Just in case, if the application/email is not opening. Trying recreating the profile in Outlook.
