When you update the Microsoft Edge, some user might be facing an error like this
When this error message is displayed, the general fix is to check the Internet connection and proxy settings. This error occurs due to an incorrect update or the update is not properly installed in the system. You may try to fix this issue by checking your network configuration and proxy settings.
How to fix this issue?
Step 1: In the search bar, type troubleshoot and open the Network Adapter
Note: Run the inbuilt troubleshooter, at the end the troubleshooter might say if there is an issue with the wireless adapter or access point.
Step 2: Check the Proxy configuration, if your windows are running any proxy software, close and check whether you can update the Microsoft Edge.
Step 3: Reset the WinHTTP Proxy setting by executing the following command netsh winhttp reset proxy in the command prompt (As the error is related to HTTP error, it is good enough to reset the WinHTTP proxy settings)
Wait for some time and then restart your computer. The issue might self-clear once the Microsoft Edge updates correctly and the error will not be displayed.
